Elden Ring Fanart:
Malenia's Helmet
This is one of my first projects in Zbrush. Our instructions were to create a metal sculpt while practicing working with booleans.

Reference & Inspiration
My goal for creating this model was to work in Zbrush to replicate Malenia's helmet from Elden Ring, and then bring the model into maya for retopology.

A main priority for this project as to have a strict deadline and only give myself a week to work on it, so I can practice with a time constraint.
Zbrush Sculpt
The most important factor when sculpting the model was making sure the overall shape or primary details were as close to 1-1 as the references. I focused on making sure that each angle of the model felt as close as I could possibly get to my references in terms shape and scale.

I continued by sculpting the secondary details within the wings and ribbons and begun settingup subtools to create my booleans for the mask areas.

Using a combination of noise and hard edge brushes i added texture and battle scars for the tertiary details.

After I had finished the high poly sculpt I Zremeshed to somewhat decrease poly count to allow me to have a live surface as I brought the model into maya for retopology.

Retopology
After setting up the high poly model in Maya I began
re-topologizing working with the primary shapes first.

The ribbon itself was an area where I wanted to keep as flat as possible and only add geometry to areas that really needed it.

In the masks holes, I setup a guide with the first few areas and was able to bring the topology over.

Lastly, I smoothed a handful of edges and finished the medium poly model with a total of 6236 tris.
